The Berry Man only carries frozen fruit of A Grade standard. If a customer is not satisfied with the quality of the product, it will be replaced.
The Berry Man (Aus) Pty Ltd has been HACCP accredited since 2003. We insist that all suppliers have HACCP or equivalent certification as an indicator that they have management systems in place to ensure the safety and hygiene of their products.
We have agreed specifications with each supplier. These specifications address the quality of the fruit and the processing protocols. We order fruit that is ripe and free of debris (leaves, etc). The fruit is to be washed in an antibacterial solution, rinsed in clean water, dried, frozen, packaged, then transported.
Before imported stock arrives we receive laboratory reports for all products. The lab tests report on chemical residues and microbiological findings. The stock will not be accepted if the reports indicate results outside Australian standards. We receive the same information regarding Australian product. In addition, we have an agent who inspects the processing plants of all overseas suppliers. We ourselves inspect the premises of our Australian suppliers.
